Introducing Ibiza and Things to Do

Ibiza, Spain has a party side and an historical UNESCO World Heritage preservation side. Ibiza has some of the most beautifully azure Mediterranean beaches anywhere. It also has over 40 nightclubs and chic bars, which attracts celebrities, from around the world, in music, fashion, and entertainment.

Ibiza is very close to the Spanish mainland, where flights and ferry's depart from Barcelona, Madrid, Valencia and Alicante. The capital of Ibiza is Ibiza Town or Eivissa, which features the famous Santa Maria d'Eivissa cathedral and a juxtaposition site of two famous luxury nightclubs, the Pacha and El Divino.

Finding accommodations in Ibiza is easy with a prime choice of villas, vacation homes, guest homes, country homes, condominiums, upscale hotels, resorts, campgrounds, bed and breakfast sites, hostels, and luxury Ibiza apartments.

Ibiza attractions for tourists to enjoy include sunbathing, swimming, snorkelling, and more at the beaches on Ibiza's southern side. These include Cala d'Hort, Cala Tarida, and Playa d'en Bossa. In the northern side of the Island are the beautiful beaches of Cala de S'Alga, Cala Llonga, Cala Mariners, Cala Portinaitx, Cala Sant Vicenc, Cala Talamaca, Cala Xarraca, Es Viver, Figueretes, and Sant Eulalia.

Nearly everyone gathers at the beach side bar, Cafe Mambo in Sant Antoni Village to watch the sunset, while listening to the sounds of D.J. Pete Tong who is also broadcasting live on BBC Radio One.

If you are hungry, drive to the Village of San Rafael, to eat under the Island trees at the El Clos Denis and drink Spanish and French wines, while you dine on roasted pig or tasty casseroles. Dining at the Bambuddha Grove, introduces people to a delicious menu of Mediterranean/Asian dishes in an environment that is part Buddha and Japanese Garden inspired.

If you enjoy shopping, Ibiza offers the bohemian flavor of Las Dalias, where traveling Indian and Bali fashion designers, drop off many of their creations. The vintage aura of Ganesha in Ibiza Town and Ibiza style casual dresses of Harvey Musin, in the Plaza de la Constitucio, are beautifully handmade, artistic creations. Many local artisans also set up their easels on the beaches, on the resorts, and throughout Ibiza Town.

Take a boat or ferry ride to Ses Illetes, on the Island of Formentera, and sit on its sandy white, soft beaches. Ses Illetes features a luxurious mud bath spa location, where tourists walk out of the baths with the mud all over their bodies, only to have the sun dry it up, while they run to the beach, to wash it off. Yachts and cruise ships, share the Formentera harbor, where their inhabitants are sitting under colorful umbrellas at the Island's many chef inspired restaurants and drinking sangria.

The Unesco World Heritage preservation, at the Dalt Vila, does allow tourists at its Museu d'Art Contemporani and Our Lady of the Snows Cathedral, which overlooks the Island. If everyone promises to clean up after themselves, they can eat a light fare. Dalt Vila is the oldest part of Ibiza and is the highest part of the city. It is encased by a stonewall which was built in the 16th century to protect the Island from raiding pirates.
