Meribel is renowned not only for its fine ski slopes, excellent catered chalets and overall cheerful ambiance, but also for the verve and energy of its après ski. At sundown, weary skiers head over to the resort's centre, where after-hour festivities commence on schedule.
And while there are several bars and nightspots in the resort, there are some that stand out, such as the following favourites.
Dick's Tea Bar
It's not easy to pinpoint exactly what makes Dick's Tea Bar such a huge hit among the locals and tourists. Maybe it's the accessibility to some of the best catered chalets the resort has to offer; maybe it's the live DJ sessions, or the live music; perhaps it's the shows that feature some of the most interesting live acts in the Alps; or maybe it's the food. But whatever it is that makes Dick's Tea Bar tick, it's definitely one of the resort's most popular places to hang out. The moment the doors open, people stream in and, immediately, the entire place buzzes with the hustle and bustle and the excitement of folks who are hyped up from skiing all day. Of course, the fact that the cocktails are two for the price of one until midnight immensely adds to the appeal!
Le Rond Point
At Le Rond Point, the expansive sun terrace is the place to be, and even on the coldest days and nights, with outdoor heaters installed it still pumps. Near to some excellent catered chalets and named after the area it's located in, the bar is famous for its toffee vodka, which guests can enjoy by single shots or by the whole bottle for a larger group. Depending on the weather, the sun terrace is also the venue for live performances by some great local bands, and makes for an enjoyable experience with the stunning views as the backdrop. But that doesn't mean inside the bar is any less fun and many take advantage of the local tradition of dancing in ski boots!
Le Loft
Le Loft has established itself as one of the most popular and vibrant nightclubs in the resort. There is a certain air of distinction from the facade to every corner of Le Loft. The club has two main areas: one devoted to thosae who love to dance, and another right behind the bar, where the ambiance is quieter and cosier-perfect for more serious conversations. Whether you want to spend all your remaining energy dancing to the latest pop tunes from around the world, or you just want to hang out and relax, this nightclub offers the best of both worlds. Located at Parc Olympique in La Chaudanne, just a short stroll from some of the resort's best catered chalets, Le Loft is the place to be if you fancy dancing and partying.
