Things to See in Sorrento

Sorrento is in Italy, located just one hour South of Naples. It is a great home base to stay in order to have easy access to Pompeii, Naples and the beautiful Amalfi Coast. From the Amalfi towns to the jet set Capri Island, Sorrento is simply a 30 minute drive to the towns and a 45 minute boat ride over to Capri.
Pompeii has many visitors because of its re-known excavations and Naples offers beauty in architect, culture and great pizza.

Sorrento is on a ledge between mountains and the Mediterranean Sea. There is a population of approximately 20,000 people and hosts many tourists, especially from April to November. It is a pleasant place to enjoy sight seeing, local food,shops and is very safe. The people are friendly and welcoming, making you feel right at home.

The town is surrounded by lemon and olive trees. There are food tours you may take where they produce wine or mozzarella and even the famous limoncello, which is a digestive liquor made from the local lemons. These tours are great and enjoyable because you can actually see how these foods and drinks are produced step by step and at the end of the tour you will have the opportunity to taste the final product.

The entire Coast has great transportation and daily tours are offered to visit the entire coast or Pompeii. The Amalfi Coast has one of the most exciting bus rides. It is a jewel sitting in the Mediterranean sea with nice cafes, shops and restaurants. There are many famous artists and actors that have been inspired while spending some time in Capri.
